Just ordered a UDM-PRO this morning.

I only just bought a US-24 and Cloudkey Gen2 that I probably won't need anymore...that was a waste of money.

Hopefully it's trouble free. I think i'll just wipe all my gear and start from scratch.

Sorry for gravedigging. But I have a UDM Pro and I am looking at upgrading my 950/500 fiber to hyper fiber 4000/4000. My question is with the new Nokia ONT, it looks like it's an ONT, Modem and router all in one unlike our current ONT which is just purely an ONT. Does this mean if I was to port forward I would have to do it on the ONT rather than my UDM pro?

If anyone could shed some light, that would be awesome!

I have just found this site https://lightwirebusiness.com/blog/the-hyperfibre-ont-its-a-router-too/

It seems to suggest it can be put into bridge mode like normal ONT's. Does anyone have any experience with this and a UDM Pro?

Keep your US-24. It supports 1Gbit per port, the UDMP only has a 1Gbit backplane for all 8 ports - the switch part of it is junk in other words. Mine uplinks to a US-24 and everything else cascades from there

I think that is switch to cpu/uplink. It's really terrible wording by Ubiquiti and they don't seem to want to advise anybody anything different.

My UDMP has been running great. No issues, but not a complicated install.

When I first read that I did some further reading and satisfied myself it was likely true, but I forget what I found.

Mine has been running fine also, except it gets ~650Mbps on my 950Mbps service with IPS enabled because they still haven’t fixed the well publicised PPPoE issue. I came very close to selling it on, but the USG3 is soooo underpowered I hung on to the UDMP. I’m not impressed with it not a fan by any means.

Has anybody had issues using PPPoE with UDMP and maybe 2degrees?

Just got a new fibre connection started with Enable and I'm in a back and forward with Enable, 2Degrees and my UDMP now.

ONT = PON light solid. LAN1 as instructed (tried all of them though). Enable say good to go.

UDMP: Connection type: PPPoE. Interface WAN (rf45 to ONT)

Username: myusername@snap.net.nz Password:

Use VLAN ticked, VLAN Tag 10. QoS Tag None.

I hoped to be able to SSH into the UDMP to see if there is some more information (like login issues etc), but the username/password is incorrect. It says UDMP root password "Specified when enabling the SSH service".

My device is factory reset, so I thought this would also reset, but none of those passwords are working either (ubnt/ubnt etc)

I haven't had connection issues with the UDMP on Spark PPPoE, just the ~650Mbps maximum on a 900Mbps service when I turn on IPS.

I'm at work and I can't VPN in to my network right now to check, but you need to enable SSH, from memory in the UI of the UDMP. If you go for settings when you log in, before you choose if you want to manage Network, Protect etc. Once enabled it worked for me, but the username is not admin like other Unifi defaults - I think it is root for this one.

I know I got SSH working fairly easily as I had to do it to install beta firmware so I could import the backup from my UCKG2+ when I got the UDMP, as it was on an earlier version of controller. It's a while ago now, but the above is my recollection of what was unusual about it. HTH

Edited to add: it imported my PPPoE settings from the UCKG2+ as I set it up and restored the backup before I replaced my USG3 with it, and it just worked when I did put it between my network and my ONT.

Since setting up I have had some issues getting it to see the ONT after a reboot and had to manually set the WAN port to 1000/full duplex. I think my ONT is possibly dicky though as it played up a few time years ago and we eventually realised there was a gecko sitting on top of it for warmth that presumably may have unrelated into it.

Hi Fen. Having fun at work on GZ? :) Thanks for answering.

Did SSH refuse connection or just say access denied when entering U/P? It acts like it's already enabled for me if I can SSH to that stage.

I don't know if you can get into the UDMP via UI if you can't get past the "No Internet Detected" stage of the process? The UI is basically an Internet setup wizard until you get past that point.

Because I currently have no controller and the UDMP is factory reset I am kind of stuck.

EDIT: Oh ok. Just got in with root/ubnt. Nice! Wish me luck...

EDIT2: Yay bad credentials. Will call 2D again.

I saw the email come in and I'm trying to use a system that is clearly overloaded this morning, so I thought I'd check what had been said while waiting for the next 504 Gateway Time-out message to arrive :)

Anyway, awesome that you're in. Good luck with the rest of the setup.
