Hello all,
I am in quite a pickle and am in need of some serious help.

I just recently got a cheap little Bluetooth USB Adapter to connect to my phone so I could send pics and ringtones of my choice to it. Unfortunately Windows is not allowing it to connect. It keeps bringing up an error stateing "Your Bluetooth Software Liscence does not include use with this bluetooth device. [6]"

So at first I googled the error and I found a useful post here. http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=8&TopicId=2200
And it seemed to make a lot of sense to me. Ok Windows is blocking the driver because it doesn't go along with windows. Ok makes sense. So, I followed the steps... well at least I tried to follow the steps. When I got around to the part where I was going to 'force' Windows to use the driver I noticed that there were no Windows Bluetooth Drivers. Which I found to be odd.

So, I decided well maybe my computer just did not have the correct updates. But it did. It has the SP2. So I uninstalled the SP2 figuring maybe it was a fluke and reinstalled it and again still no Bluetooth drivers. Ok well, there has to be another way.

So I began to experiment with many different approaches and searched for different soultions. I tried installing blue soleil software which came with the adapter. Unfortunately it only allows the adapter to communicate with just the blue soleil software and nothing else. So I uninstalled that and tried many different drivers, all of which gave me the same problem as before.

I'm running out of ideas quickly and figured that now is the time to ask for help beings I've got nothing else in mind.

If you need any specific information pertaining to my computer and such just ask. I'm not sure what I should post in those regards.

thanks,
Sylvia

Welcome to Geekzone... You should use the software shipped with this Bluetooth adapter. This error message indicates the software is installed but the adapter is actually using the wrong drivers. Try removing the software, rebooting your computer and then print that discussion again to follow the instructions exactly. You should not plug the adapter until the right moment as instructed in the thread.

Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I tried several times again and the AVS software still is not detecting my phone.
I've run out of ideas lol.
