I have set up Netflix on my laptop and am trialling Netflix and unblock-us. It works well but I would prefer to do it through the PS3 - I understand that this is possible - correct?

I have transferred the unblock-us trial to the PS3 and their site says everything is OK.

I have a USA PS3 account and am expecting to see Netflix in the "What's New" menu on the PS3 but it's not there.

I think I may have incorrect DNS settings. I found some settings on a website called "How to set up Netflix on your PS3 in Australia" and I used their DNA settings.

I would be grateful for any advice on all this and particularly comments on the DNS settings.

The internet on the PS3 seems to be working fine.

Thanks

Sorry- accidently started with just the heading before I had composed the guts.

Did you go to the Playstation store to get Netflix? The app for it is in there. Oh and while there, I recommend you grab the Crackle app as well.

I've been using Netflix on all sorts of devices for about 2 years now (using Unblock-US) and have to say that I think the PS3 is the worst playback experience. Don't know why but I always have little niggles with it on PS3.

hmmm I have the opposite experience.

Out of our PS3, Roku, Sony Bravia's I think the PS3 is the best

Maybe because I've got an old PS3. Netflix works really nicely on all my ATV's, Xbox, Ipad's, Mac's and PC's - just not so nice on PS3 (even hardwired into LAN). I do remember years ago checking the unblock-us support pages because there were some PS3 issues. Might be worth a look there.

Thanks guys - all sorted thanks to your comments.

I think Netflix goes well on the PS3. Now getting 5.1 sound which I was not getting before (via my laptop > HDMI to AC receiver).
