Im On a slingshot Express Everyday 25GB plan and a dlink modem one of those free ones that i got off a friend internet kept cutting out and thought it was because the modem was so cheap went to dse powerhouse and said i wanted the best wireless modem they offered me a dink one or a linksys and i wasnt very keen on the dlink, so got the linksys one its a wireless-g adsl home gateway all in one solution... says its ADSL2/2+ modem, internet-sharing router, 4 port switch and wireless-g access point. the model number is WAG200G and i have set up the slingshot settings on the linksys settings page "192.168.1.1" e.g ----@jetbuster.co.nz etc etc even though thats not the address but an example. any way its much better but it still cuts out now and then but im sure i dont have the settings correct but i have no idea what to do i tried getting the settings of the slingshot website and found them but had no idea what to do with them msn sometimes says theirs some kind of dns error or something but not very sure i dont know how someone coud help but im up for any suggestions etc... please help!!

DESELECT: Connect on demand.

Downstream line attenuation of 45 db indicates over 3 km from exchange. Next step is to have Telecom change the DSLAM port and wire pair between exchange and your house.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

It involves being extremely persistent to the level 2 fault finding people. Just tell them what you have told us. I would have also eliminated any potential problems with house wiring. If you have a splitter installed (dedicated ADSL outlet) then there should be no issue there.

I use more than just slingshot's dns server as sometimes, it would go down. Don't know if they fixed that.

Your post was great with very useful infomation.

Have you thought of posting it to http://forums.slingshot.co.nz the admins will say log the fault if it's a serious issue and get a job number regarding the problem.  There was a post on geekzone about dial the chines helpdesk as there is no wait and there english is good, if you are logging a fault.

I have found the service I'm getting is great for the last month and a bit. currently my cap has run out and im still getting a good 'surfable' 64k connection, good pings (100-70ms)
