Hi,

I recently purchased the D-Link DAP-1320 Wireless Extender and am having problems connecting it to my router.

My flat has the free Vodafone ADSL wireless router which the extender refuses to connect to. Any ideas why?

I have tried the extender out by turning my phone into a hotspot and it connects fine, so there isn't an issue with the device.

Any ideas what might be causing an issue would be appreciated.

Thanks

Could really be any number of things, first to look at would be security settings.

Having said that (and in case you're unaware) wireless repeaters are a horrible product that should only ever be used as a last ditch attempt to improve WiFi when cabled Ethernet or Ethernet over Power extenders and an additional access point can't be utilised.

Also wireless extenders are not all compatible with each other.
Generally you should use an extender that is the same brand as your router.
Over the last couple of years, interoperability has become much more advanced
