Are you running recent firmware? I'm guessing possibly not?

Which ISP do you have?

Can you still login to the routers admin page when the connection has stopped working?

To get the internet working again, do you just need to restart the router, or do you have to do something else?

How long do you normally have to wait for the internet connection to come back?

Right ok, so it's interly possible this is a DSL layer disconnection rather than modem related.

eg. a line fault..

I'd speak to NOW to run some tests on the connection :)

See this is the awkard gap... That only your provider can really manage (chorus provide them with the tools to test and prove disconnections)

If a feild tech goes out and cant find an issue. They will simply say there is no issue.

Can you check the router system logs, to see if the DSL is dropping and resyncing?

Does the router report how long since the DSL last resynced?
