Im partially through a newbuild (cladding and insulation stage) and have just now noticed that Chorus really wants a coms/distribution box for ONT installs. I have not put one in as the flat is one bedroom and a total size of 38sqm and will have no networking other than wifi. The fibre conduit was laid by the builders to the bedroom/bathroom wall of the flat (i had no input on this) i have since run Chorus conduit in the walls from where the external point will be to where i want the ONT to be in the lounge but not to any form of box

Will Chrous throw a wobbly about mounting the ONT to the wall and not into a box and how would be best to prep to have the fibre come through the wall?

Can't see why it would be a problem, the last 3 houses I've lived in just had the ONT mounted directly on walls either in the lounge or garage

They will put it on a wall if you ask, thats the default for new installs into old houses with nothing in them. External wall behind a TV or else in the kitchen are the places they have offered friends.
