Hope someone can help.
Family member has given me there desktop to try and get the internet working. Now they are on dail up and i am on broadband. So i connect a cable from my wireless adsl 2 modem that i use for my laptop and plug into there desktop and get the some problem won't connect not getting a homepage. They have windows vista home basic on the desktop. Now the funny thing is that they have microsoft outlook 2000 installed on the desktop and i can surf the internet that way. But i cannot connect through the internet icon. Is there settings that need to be done. If anyone can help let me now please

Is it trying to dial out? If so, go to Internet Explorer's Tools/Internet Options/Connections and tick 'Never dial'. Put it back to the dialler when you send it back!
