I have an MSI Pro B660 A WiFi motherboard where the network adapter has failed ,it does not show in the Control Panel/devices.

I tried resetting the adapter, reinstalling drivers, nothing worked as no network adapter shows.

I tried booting into a Ubuntu distro, it showed no network adapter either.

With the network cable between the computer and router, there is one orange light where the cable plugs into computer.

Is there any suggestions I can try, or is it a mother board replacement.

You've checked the BIOS to make sure it hasn't been disabled there?
If it's enabled in the BIOS but still shows all the signs you've posted, sounds like Motherboard replacement time (or buy a cheap PCI card)

Does it show in bios? If so can do you have option to enable/disable? Have you updated bios recently? i see some people losing it after a bios update but getting it back after downgrading.

If it is not showing in bios then you may be SOL and need to rma, or use a usb/pci adapter if you can’t. I believe that board has a Realtek 8125BG which has it’s own issues when running like aspm but it should at least show up.

I had recently done a bios update. Don't know if that's when it failed, or had already failed. I tried reloading the original bios but no luck.

If I go to device list and choose show hidden devices, I can see the network adapter. It has the following message. Currently this device is not connected to the computer, code 45. To fix, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
