Hi All

Recently swapped providers to Mercury and have been provided an EERO 6+ router.

Speeds are great and browsing is fine, however games are showing as "Strict" NAT type.

UPnP is on, Port forwarding as per various games trouble shooting pages, but am still finding this is "strict"

Anyone had any previous experience resolving this?, Google is only so helpful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mercury use CG-NAT by default. Request a public IP.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

As mentioned, this will likely be as your connection will be on CGNAT.

If you PM me your account number then I can get this removed for you / move you to a public IP (may just notice a brief 1-2 minute outage).

@taneb1 is the public dynamic still free?

Correct, customers can still request a public Dynamic IP at this stage free of charge - We also recently moved our Static IP's to a one-off fee instead of an ongoing charge.

@taneb1 How often would a dynamic public ip address change for a connection?

No set timeframe as such, would be whenever the customers session drops, so if the router is offline for ~5 minutes, during planned maintenance, etc.
