Does anyone know the best way to surface mount this pdl 600 series plate to the wall. it does not fit a 35mm box that i had on hand.

I am using 23awg Cat6a F-UTP cable and with the Dynamix FP-C6AUGS-06 Cat6a jacks its too small.

Is there a surface mount box that has a depth of about 50mm or does anyone have a better way to mount it without cutting a hole in the wall.

The cable is quite stiff too.

Two cables will be run.

Could you piggyback two mounting blocks and use longer screws to secure the outer block through the inner block?

Screw the base of a plastic box to the wall and surface mount the plate to the box lid.

Is cable terminated direct to RJ45 socket, or is it RJ45 jack to coupler?

Its RJ45 jack to coupler specifically the Dynamix FP-C6AUGS-06 shielded keystone slime line jack.

If you terminate directly to a RJ45 socket, it should fit.

I use these for all my surface outlet needs https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/SCBDNX0125/Dynamix-FMT-UK-8P-8-Port-Unloaded-Keystone-Wall-Mo - they have 2 port one but smaller so may be more cramped with a coupler type - https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/SCBDNX0124/Dynamix-FMT-UK-2P-2-Port-Unloaded-Keystone-Wall-Mo . I have never tried that in either version.

Those sockets are terrible. you need to use one that allows you to bring the cable in from the side, like standard the PDL one

Edit:

I see you are using shielded cable. if you don't live in an aluminium smelter it is probably overkill... so just don't terminate the shield, then you can use the above jack

i do have standard PDL ones. I didn't buy the cable someone else did at the time it was overkill its 300m of Dynamix 23awg F-UTP cable.

I have some PDL 619MD keystone jacks left over from the original install but these are for CAT6 not Cat 6a and have a tighter punch down.

i can replace it with these but will now have to undo all the work i did with the Dynamix keystone jack.

I ended up using two surface mount boxes screwed together to get the depth and that has worked.
