maybe somebody can help, i have an ip camera, installed the supplied software, but now
i'm having difficulties getting the ip address for the cam,  i have a dynalink router, set for
wireless etc, but no luck in picking up the signal, i'm assuming i have not found the right
settings in the router setup to get it to work, any ideas??

Hi mate, welcome to GZ

You need to provide more info... camera brand/model/software, dynalink model?
Hardwired camera into router?
Is camera powered?
Tried a different network cable?
Have you followed the camera instructions perfectly to set the IP from its default?

It could be a lot of things. Some cameras will allow setting of the camera via its own software, even if the IP addresses don't match. Others are more difficult.

thanks for the quick reply...my router is a dynalink RTA 1025W

the camera is a no brand chinese ip wireless camera, very similar to the foscam models. it doesn't require

it to be hardwired into a router.

i've installed the supplied software, the cam is plugged into the power, displaying the correct lights etc

the only drama is that the router/computer is not picking up the cam,  in the instructions it makes a point

of making sure your router accepts DDNS? i've looked thru the dynalink router settings but not sure how

to check,

On page 79 of your router manual its guides you to look at your wireless clients list. If your camera is in fact connecting to your router successfully, then this will show the cameras IP address.

BUT, have you set the wireless passcode in the camera yet? Because the camera will not connect unless it knows your wireless password.

My guess is you will need to plug the camera in (hardwired), to set up the camera first, including setting up of your wireless passwords etc.
