Hi Team - we have a York Nexus cross trainer that we misplaced the power supply for.
Talking to the NZ and separately Australian York reps neither have this power supply anymore.
The NZ rep suggested - https://www.jaycar.co.nz/6v-dc-800ma-ultra-slim-power-supply-7dc-plugs/p/MP3145

The issue is that the jaycar adapter doesn’t have the necessary connector (needs to take a male 3.5 - like a headphone jack looking connector)

Anyone have any ideas - the Store Manager at Jaycar suggested that no one sells an adapter to fit
6v 500ma

Could have a browse through https://wellforces.co.nz/ They tend to have a wide range of power supplies.

It would be very unusual to have a 3.5mm audio jack for power. A quick Google search for York cross trainer power supplies shows fairly standard looking barrel jacks, so I'd be surprised if it was something different. I think you'd probably find the Jarcar one will have the right connector.

Do appreciate the reply - I said 3.5mm headphone type - which it definitely is - also the jaycar adapters are not big enough - and the Store Manager said they don’t have anything as it is such an unusual size and they couldn’t think of anyone who would sell something in NZ

I can understand your scepticism- however it being such a unusual size has created the issue - as I have tried everywhere I can think in Aussie/NZ including the York Fitness reps for both Aussie and NZ

The NZ rep passed along the below - I brought the Jaycar adapter recommended and none of the fittings is large enough to take the female 3.5mm connector - the dark blue adapter is to small and not close to fitting

It is actually a very nice cross trainer - and seems a shame to not be able to use it due to the power adapter (we had it put away and have misplaced the adapter not realising it would be such a important and hard to replace bit of kit.

Hence the SOS to the geekzone community as it appears it needs someone with some niche knowledge

There is a UK version available online - but was trying to avoid long time frame and then having to use a UK to NZ power adapter on the power supply

“Unfortunately this is a 6vDC adaptor and none of the current models have 6v adaptors.

You can get something from Jaycar Electronics:

JAYCAR MP3145

These adpators come with a range of different size plugs, the correct size plug should have a dark blue ring around the tip.

You will need to ensure the little plug is connected to the end of the wires with the +ve going to the centre of the plug.”

Are you certain that is the power cable in that photo, not an interconnect between the control unit/pulse sensor/main unit?

Most of these units seem to have a standard 2.1 or 2.5mm DC barrel jack on the very back of the unit at floor level behind the wheel.

EDIT: Looking at manuals for this online, pretty sure the 3.5mm plug in the photo is the cable from the pulse sensors on the handlebars and should plug in to the bottom of the computer screen bit. The power plug is on the back just above the rear foot.

Can you post the link to the UK version of the power supply?

Yep 100% sure - you can search for the same model in the UK and it shows the adapter - we also had the cable but had misplaced it.

The issue apart from it being super unusual way to supply power - is that the resistance is controlled electronically - so you can use the machine but near pointless as you can’t make it have more resistance

In hindsight should have taped the power supply to the unit when storing - instead the got seperated

Page 26 has the exploded view - what seems to be in your photo is part 84. Power supply is 99 down the bottom left of the diagram.

Every one I have found by searching is as I described above - 3.5mm stereo plug with 2 wires is for the pulse sensors in the handlebars and connects in to the back of the screen.

Humour me and double check what you have...
