Looking at the app store at comments after people have upgraded there were quite a few reports of degraded battery life.

Updated mine this morning. Everything seems to work okay. Only thing I've really found a use for so far is the wrist flick to scroll through notifications. But at least Wear Tasker, Wear Mini Launcher and Watchmaker still all seem to work properly, and I didn't need to sync after the update either.
Now will sit and wait patiently for my SW3 to receive it's update.

Maps has been updated and mini maps via the phone is quite neat.

Compass and directional views seem accurate and easily zoomed. Defaults to black and white static when not in use.

Not in a hurry for Wi-Fi on the GWR now that my SW3 had received the update. Used Wi-Fi on that for about 3 hours then got frustrated because I switch between the two watches and they kept getting the watchfaces mixed up. That seems to be because even when you disconnect a watch via the wear app the cloud synch still maintains a contact.
Am liking the new features that 5.1 has brought though.

SpookyAwol: Woop woop! We have wifi :)

Good luck with that...I'm not convinced that Wi-Fi is compelling enough to go to the lengths required to install that...I'll just wait for the official patch

I did it, not too much drama. I've been at home all day and my GWR seems to have been connected to my tablet by wifi most of the time. Its down to 33% battery so that's taken a hit. I installed the dual core kernel (for no particular reason) which might make the battery life worse. May swap back to the single core kernel but I'll give it a few days.

Be interesting to see how it goes on the office wifi tomorrow.

I used a mac so I didn't need drivers. Did you get the drivers from here? http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html

I was wondering if a current owner of an LG G Watch R here on GZ was interested in selling theirs? I missed out on that WS deal a few months back, and now regret it even more given I'd like to give a smart watch a go, and the R seems like the best-value one around at the moment (especially given it has a round face - I really don't like square/rectangular faces on watches).

I'm interested in one in very good/excellent condition. and with the original charger etc., so please PM me if you've got one you would be interested in selling.

Many thanks
Jonathan

You don't have an iPhone 5 or 5s that you want to swap with?

Sorry, I don't. Only ever owned Android handsets and doubt that'll change anytime soon.

Anyone else out there with one surplus to requirements? You could make money off your earlier bargain purchase!

Can someone tell me if it is possible to connect this watch with an iPhone? If so what are the steps? Many thanks
