I've had mine a few weeks and am pleased so far. Seems to eat cables and anything small that it can get near, so had to re-arrange a few things to make it a bit "safer".

However it has now disappeared from the Mi Home app...so I can't control it apart from the physical controls. However, I do get push alerts on the phone (e.g. "eating cables" or "returning to base") so something is still hooked up (and device is on wifi). Any ideas? To help I have linked it to Home Assistant, but can't see a way to get the alerts (e.g. going back to base) via Home Assistant. It would be great to not need the app at all.

After a few weeks with mine, there are only two things I dislike about it:

The first one is that it doesn't alert you to when the bin is full i.e it just keeps going.

Secondly, the brush accumulates a lot of hair... especially women's hair. That's where I prefer the Roomba 980's AeroForce extractors. Pretty much no hair gets stuck on them.

Um, no, I was paraphrasing. Cables are normally the issue with mine. The actual notification has a bunch of Chinese (I am running the English Language pack) then says something about how the robot is stuck or the wheels are not turning and it needs finding and fixing.

The app notifications don't even work on my phone.

You quickly learn what areas trip it up, so it becomes a non issue.

Anyone here who might be willing to let us borrow their Xiaomi Robot Vacuum v1 in Christchurch? We have thick plush carpets and I'd want to make sure what model I should buy :) I read the newer version works much better on thicker carpets but I just would like to test the v1 out.

Less suction : 1600pa vs 1800pa(v1)

Smaller battery : 2400mah vs 5400mah(v1)

Larger dustbin : 640ml vs 420ml(v1)

More modes : 9 vs 4(v1)

I ordered one from Dick Smiths on 17 Feb and it says the warehouse is not dispatching until 30 March. That seems like a ridiculously long wait.

For what it's worth here is a review I've written and start up guide. Try to document as much as I good as I went but some had to be done from memory.
