I still can't figure out the zone thing - have no idea what the x1 x2 x3 modifiers work. People mentioned it makes the cleaner go over the zone more than once, but no matter how hard I push they do nothing.

I don't think it saves the zones, but I never really use them. And yes, you have to clear cables and clutter. It loves dangling headphones and hanging blankets.
But you quickly learn that, then it is a breeze.

6 months in, and possibly just behind the coffee machine as the best appliance I ever bought. 7842 mins of cleaning, 6766 square meters cleaned. Roughly paid $3 per hour for a great vacuum job, only will get better as the weeks go by.

I got sent my DSE $20 eVoucher code but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone else had that problem? Because I complained so much they are also refunding the postage ($9).

Mine didn't either, but then I tried it on the NZ version of their website and it DID work. Try that.

I'm looking for some magnetic strip to keep the idiot away from the electric blanket cables, it manages to get the wires looped around it's laser sensor regularly.

Has anyone used locally available strips with success? If so what did you buy?

Don't have any information on magnetic strips, but I zip tied a 4-way power adaptor under the bed (to a slat) and then plugged the electric blanket into that. Only one cable to tidy and the others can't be seen unless you look under the bed. Not sure if that might be an option for you.

Idiot device?? I reckon it is cleverer than some people I know!

Yes, realistically, you need to take care of cables and rugs with fringes. We regard that as a small price to pay for the work it does.

Finally got around to plugging in the vacuum and letting it loose.  Wow, so good.  As long as it doesn't break down this is quite a useful tech purchase.  Surprised at how much dust it vacuumed up.

Surprised it couldn't get out from under the bed, gbwelly. Perhaps the bedding goes down to the floor??

So was I. It wasn't the bedding blocking it.

It was more a case of how the hell did it get in there, rather than surprise it couldn't get out, given the tight squeeze required to extract it.

I am going to have to watch it closely to identify what is going on.

I bought mine just a month ago and just discovered this thread.

I have exactly the same problem, I have 2 old books (about 1 inch thick) and lifted up my bed whenever I'm running the vacuum in the room, and problem solved.  I usually remove the books after the cleaning cycle and place them again the next time.

I've recently encountered an issue where most days it presents an error 5 saying the main brush is stuck, but it is not actually stuck. you can remotely restart it, but it is annoying. I did a bit of googling and no one really knows why, some people are cutting their brushes to be shorter though.

It's a common problem and I am jealous of those who don't suffer from it on their unit. Because Kogan is so painful to deal with I put up with the issue. I have found it is much better if you only cut the bristles on each side of the wire guards on the brush cover. When the brush is new there is a gap in the bristles to prevent hitting the wires, but as they splay out over time I think they hit the wires. Mine stops in the same room, despite it having exactly the same type of carpet as the rest of the house. I'm not sure if the room is a vacuum cleaner Bermuda triangle, or if it's a run time issue and it hits that room at about the same time. Mine seems to stop between 32 and 36 minutes into the run. It's annoying, but the benefits still outweigh the hassle for me so far. I think I'd pay more to buy locally for the next one, so I could actually return the unit without a 12 week turnaround time like with Kogan.
