Mine is "in transit to destination" via USPS
neb: Friend of mine has one and is very happy with it. I still like my Davis (brought in from the US at US prices, not the obscene NZ price) because they're more or less indestructible (we're coastal) and you can still get spare parts a decade or more later, but you do pay a bit of a premium for the quality.
Speaking of which, the wind speed readings on the Davis had been suspiciously low for awhile now and were completely off during the recent breeziness here in Orkland. Ordered a replacement Davis weather-shielded bearing from Scientific Sales and was up and running again in about ten minutes. If it had been one of the infinite number of generic made-in-China stations I'd have had to toss it and get a new one.
For those here that have received their Tempests already, do you mind sharing here your Weather Station webpage that is on tempestwx.com ? Be interesting to see how they go with this current cold snap.
@DjShadow mine is here: https://tempestwx.com/station/55959
But you can also hit map at the top of the page to view others.

Click on an Icon. Then click on the name of the station at the right. Then click on the Tempest Icon Near the Top Right)
New Tempest Stations will show their ST- serial number at the top of the current data.
Some non modern Tempest (Company) Stations are on the Map too.
my weather stn log at weatherunderround shows in this link also:
Live Observations | Observations | WeatherWatch - New Zealand's Weather News Authority.
I can go there to see trusted reports of home conditions when I am away from home.
Normal media is less than great. Especially tv which could beat them all at weather reporting but instead trots out its own half baked graphics and sensational prophesy.

I'm running weewx to upload the data to pwsweather, so that I can link rainfall in with the rain delay on my Orbit irrigation system. It allows me to run a local webpage to view the daily / weekly / monthly history.

Quite surprised at how many stations are in NZ...looks a great product.

I wonder where they're getting their feed from, presumably scraping Weather Underground?

PWS is pretty good, particularly as WU has slid further and further downhill, they had a few glitches initially but most of them have been fixed for awhile now. The only thing that's still a bit annoying is their meatball graph display instead of line graphs like almost everyone else does... look at their wind display, it looks like a bunch of ping-pong balls bouncing up and down on a tarp.
Wethewatch uses my data The graphs are 5minutes per update. There is no fudging. I have watched it carefully. I expect the graphic has to be generated that way for accuracy to be maintained in a large data base. The wind pingpong balls are result from my station reporting maxmum gust of the period and speed direction at the sampling time.

(Holy bleep, it's breezy out there).
Sorry I took your comment the wrong way. I have a very jaundiced view of official weather reporting as I believe there is a main aim to follow certain rules; for example Christchurch is mostly given becoming fine and fine is not showing rain drops in the puddles. Where as on this side if you can see Mt Cook it is going to rain and if you can't it is raining.

I remember that accurate forecast as a child too! (ex Coaster)
For anyone interested - how I mounted my Tempest:

- 32mm PVC Pipe.
- 32mm Pipe Holders.
- Rivets to hold the pipe in position.
