bcourtney:
Elpie: Got the email yesterday and mine is currently in Hong Kong, on its way to me. Yay! The Invisible Shield screen protector, that I ordered from Zagg at the same time, arrived this morning.

Just out of curiosity, did you order yours at the launch time of around 2:30am or did you wait till a slightly more respectable time after waking on Friday morning?

I only ask as I waited till about 9am on the Friday morning and am guessing I'll still be waiting a few days yet before mine begins shipping.

Mine was ordered just after 3am on the Friday morning. They originally gave a delivery date of 27th April.

cant decide if i should cancel the DSE preorder and just buy it online... apple store now says 2-3 weeks... yet DSE can give no indication of when theyre likely to get them in stock..... decisions decisions.

Given Apple's secrecy around the launch (until a couple of hours beforehand) I'd be very surprised if DSE or anywhere else had any idea when more stock was arriving.  That's just my view though.

They probably had to order their product through the Apple online store like everyone else in NZ ;-)

I guess if NZ had an Apple store, at least stock would be replenished a bit quicker.

Seems that at least one retailer has managed to secure some stock. JB HiFi in Wgtn have sold some units today to people who were in the queue on launch day but had missed out on stock.
Maybe it's more widespread.... but that's all I know so far.

I haven't checked JB but I have spoken to a few other retailers in Auckland, none have had any new stock yet.

Mine says it has arrived in Auckland and is now in transit, so maybe I will get it within the next few days.

I missed the courier this morning so it will be redelivered in the afternoon. Very quick and reliable delivery by TNT

Talked to some more stores and they had a second wave of stock which was allocated to those who preordered instore. Still not enough stock to supply everyone.

Seems like Apple online store is definitely the best way to get one.

I suspect they would have been the same shipment that many of us got today direct from china. The apple store I think is the best way to get them, unless a store has over ordered a lot of stock.

I asked a guy at DSE about how much stock they received in their second wave that arrived this week... he said they only got 5 units.

A guy at Noel leeming told me they hadn't got their second wave but someone else I spoke with there said they did get more units this week but the number was so few that they could only satisfy a few preorders. My guess is another 5 units...

Pretty bad considering stores in Australia seem to be getting new stock on a regular basis.
