jmosen: I'm with 2D as well and want to use the same strategy.
I called a few of the usual suspects today, and none of them knew either way if they'd have stock to sell or not. So I'll order from Apple as soon as I can. You're definitely right, they don't charge your card until they ship, and you can cancel any time before that happens.
cricket4life7575: I'm also a 2degrees customer... but how come you don't want to buy from telecom or vodafone even if it is outright?
lxsw20: Apple site includes GST, card as in credit card...

No good reason - just brand loyalty and as I said I'm not in a hurry to get one.
If you're really enthused about getting one ASAP then I don't think there's any technical reason why you couldn't buy one from one of the other telcos as long as they're selling them outright.
cricket4life7575:
oh ok.. i do want one asap, im currently using a phone i got for $9 and a smashed up vodafone 858
Why don't they sell outright tomorrow night... limited stock?
SwansNZ: I can’t see hardly any difference between that and the 5c
trig42: Are the new iPhones (5S and 5C) Cat 4 4G? The iPhone5 is only Cat3 I think.
