There wasnt much i could do about not sounding like one of those people, ive knowen for a few days about stock levels but couldnt bare to hear all the misinformed people spouting obivous lies.. i wouldnt believe your first mobile rep.. The local stores dont know whats going on, if they did, information would have leaked by now and thats what vodafone and apple dont want to happen.

Balclutha was the most randomest town i could think of, other than gore Laughing

I'm talkng about a proper vodafone store, not some bookshop/toyshop/corner dairy that sells prepay phones.

You'd think that First Mobile would know if they were going to have them in stock as surely they'd have to plan for extra staff to be working on Friday?  It's not like VF will just deliver a couple of dozen iPhones on Thursday and say here you go with no training, no info on price plans etc...  I'm thinking it's a limited realease on Friday to selected VF stores then possibly a general release the following Monday.

Are you sure you aren't talking about Mobile 1 or similar. According to the vf website the nearest vf store to Balclutha is Dunedin.

Theres all next week to get the staff clued up on the phone.. once they have released pricing etc to the public (which will SURELY have to be tomorrow!! i had $20 on tonight, damn!) then they will start with the training etc, i would say the staff would have known of all the features of the phone sometime ago, so it will be mainly about the new data plans which will take an hour or two one afternoon.. And as far as staffing, for most stores it would be your usual day, the flagship stores will have to get a few more staff on but thats not going to be a big ask.

Thanks chrsit for that. I live in Gore and if Balclutha gets a vf store before us (if ever) I'm going to send a short, sharp PM paul's way. You are right about the service though, most non-vodafone vodafone stores I have been in tend to be pretty ordinary.

It makes sense too because if they told any other staff other than the ones that are absoloutly necessary too soon, it would have bound to have been leaked.

Agreed, it won't take long for their staff to learn about the phone and plans, however if all stores are stocking iPhones on Friday then most people like me will be avoiding the flagship stores and heading for the surburban stores!
