Funny how with R/C you always have the urge to fly things away, and then circle them back past yourself again. When I was learning rc heli's I did that....not the safest thing in the world.
That thing is insanely cheap, but looks pretty cool!

Can't wait for the stupid iPhone 4....dammit.

41 hours, 27 minutes until the Lambton Quay store opens... And no announcement of any kind from Vodafone.

Not that I'm counting.

ahmad: With the online store being so involved in the launch, WHY A FRIDAY? :/

My thoughts exactly! i'm going away friday night... I wonder if they'll ship overnight to national park?

Lol same deal with me, would like to do a vid on the mountain Saturday. Imagine that.
:)

I bought one of these:

http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=11867

stuck it to RC plane last week, but its TINY, can just tape it to your board or helmet, only 640x480 but footage is pretty good for $13.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm-bfNlQkig

Definately put your own microsd card in it, it needs class4 or above to be jitter free on fast motion.
(excuse the ugly guy in the video)

Sweet vid, good frame rate too.  Lookup pole cam on youtube ir reckon thats the way to capture your boarding action.

Seems wrong to talk video tactics, but hey, VF aren't talking.

Actually, on that, I went to my local VF and asked for any info.  He said they would be selling on Friday from 9am.  He didn't know how much (other than what we already know) and he had no idea of how many they would be getting.  He made a comment to the effect that stock should turn up friday morning - which I thought was a bit sus.  He also said that people would be queuing (da), and that their shop opens at 9am which is in the mall and the mall opens at 9am.  They are a few hundred meters from the mall doors, so I better take my running shoes and a baseball bat.

Dispute it! There was a great story on how-to in the herald this week:

haha goot article, dont think that would of worked though because i was a good 3 weeks out of my registration, the guy infront of me was trying to argue his way out of the same ticket at the council. The way i see it i deserved it but still 200 is steep.

Nah go have a cry, honestly you wouldn't believe how many people move house/loose the letter/whatever and forget it. Go get it up to date and either write a letter or go in and see them. Plus - rego is ongoing, if you pay it now you're 'technically' covered for the last 3 weeks anyway.

They count on people not disputing tickets! if you're friendly and apologetic it'll save you $200.

Just a thought. Could the extremely late notice from Vodafone be a sign of very limited stock? Perhaps the thinking is the less promotion the launch gets the less purchasers which will give them breathing space for more stock.

or

Is Vodafone totally miffed at Apple announcing prices that they have got the bit between the teeth!

What do you think?

Vodafone don't know what they're doing or how to handle a product launch.

im inclined to lean towards limited stock, every store i have gone to has mentioned that - although this is the only iphone launch i have followed closely, so i have no idea O.o

Perhaps limited stock is an overstatement. Perhaps we should be saying virtually no stock! Might want to make sure you're somewhere near the front of the line, like say, Number 1 to improve your chances!!!

I've never followed or cared at previous launches either - it's just a quiet week at work!

My guess is VF's getting as much info as we are and they're keeping quiet in the hopes that the 'memories' of them as the only official iphone carrier linger on enough to make a few final bucks incase they get Rogered:

Well I'm not planning to upgrade, my 3g 16Gb works fine, it replaced my Mot V3 phone, ipod and PalmXT to one device and the DroidX and Evo all look good to me if I do decide to change.

I visited a friend today who manages a DSE store. I can confirm with my OWN EYES, there is NOT a limited supply. In fact, quite the opposite! I can not eleborate further.
