I've just ordered a 42mm aluminium with white sport band from Noel Leeming. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get it.

I was tempted by the stainless steel and sapphire, but I really can't justify spending another $300+.

Be interesting how long it takes, and whether I get mine first or not :-)

Jumping into this thread because I'm very tempted to pick myself up a 38mm rose gold with dusky pink sport band when I'm at Robina in about a week (they have an Apple store). They're $529 AUD and I presume I can claim GST back on the way home, making it even cheaper, plus it's below the declaration limit coming into NZ. Exchange rate was pretty epic when I loaded up my OneSmart card.

I'm eyeing up the nike 42mm, wonder if Harvey or Noel will have it in store for choice of colours.

I was going to order one from Noel's today and see if it beat my Apple order here then cancel my Apple order. I was concerned that I'd have to pay for my Noel's order and my Apple order beats it here and Noel's wouldn't let me cancel.

I did go into the store and enquire on their stock around the country and was told it was heavily in negative numbers. This could of course just be for the model I want Space Grey Series 2 42mm Sport.

I did purchase a nightstand dock. NOT the cheapest but I went for this one

As I say not the cheapest but ticks all the boxes, Space Grey to match watch, heavy industrial design and nightstand mode.

The AUD is really good at the moment. Some of my credit card charges we virtually 1:1 so definitely worth looking at.

On comments earlier in the thread about the sapphire glass vs. the sports watch glass, I have the stainless with sapphire glass and my fiancé has the sports watch with normal, she has managed to graze the screen, I have knocked mine a few times and there isn't a mark on the screen, however the stainless body has scratches all over it, where as my fiancé's rose gold body doesn't have a mark!

BTW have a look at the rose gold with a black band, we managed to get the Apple store to sell us one by selling the watch and a black band and crediting the white band. They were very helpful with this.

Interesting. I am a bit nervous that I might regret not going for the stainless, but it sounds like on balance it's still not worth the extra $300.

Maybe I'll keep this one for two or three years, and then once the technology has matured a bit more I can upgrade to the latest generation in stainless and keep it much longer.

The only reason I went for stainless, apart from having to have the best I could afford was that this watch needs to last me at least 5 years, I went with the theory of the stainless and sapphire combination being the best for that, to be honest I would have been happier with the sports watch, in fact I have a black sports band on my watch! I tried the Milanese Loop and the leather loop and neither was very good or comfortable.

Has anyone received their order from Noel Leeming yet? Mine was estimated to arrive yesterday, but I've heard nothing yet.

Thanks for that! I'm not too disappointed because I thought a one week turnaround was probably too good to be true but they have clearly broken the golden rule that I lived by when I was in retail; under-promise and over-deliver.

Mine shipped early yesterday from Apple NZ. Almost a month early. Currently in China, should have it Tuesday.

I was looking at getting the Apple watch series 2 instead of getting a fitness tracker. Thought it might be a better device overall. I was looking at getting the nylon strap over the sports band. Any recommendations for either or?

I will be going to australia next week so looking to pick up one from there.

The sports band is great, very comfortable and secure for all activities.

I have used the leather loop, it slipped a bit.

Milanese Loop: slipped and pinched the hair on mu arms.

Over all i find the sports band looks great and is very comfortable.
