Yeah viber said they have "greatly improved registration process"

I had to manually a friend to viber as his name didn't come up as a viber user.
Worked well when I called him(he's in Tokyo )

After installing Viber, I LOVE IT! It does take time to get used to but I believe this service will boom!

There needs to be a facility to refresh the contacts so that new vibers are added to the list. I have had to delete and reinstall the whole program to get new vibers to show up.

If a new contact doesn't appear on my viber list I manually add the number to the viber list from my phone book then it appears.

We are aware about the problem with the Contact List (when "Viber" sign is not shown next to people's names even if they have Viber).

We're currently working to fix that problem, and in the next version of Viber (1.05) it should be already solved.

By the way - you know you can still make a Viber call with those people who DID install Viber, but they just don't have the purple "Viber" sign next to their name in your contact list. right?

Using a 3GS 4.2

1) The car kit integration, the sound is poop.
2) When phone locks it's self and I get a viber call; it can be annoying having to enter the lock sequence, maybe there is a work around.
3) When answering a call it can take 10-20 seconds, I always thought it was broken till I looked at the screen. Maybe a dial tone could be played here.

Loving the viber! Get it out on droid and I may be able to downgrade my minutes :)

Correction to my previous post: if "Viber" sign does not appear next to your contact, you can only Viber him/her if you manually dial their number through the DialPad.
HOWEVER - as I said, we are working on a fix that will have your Contact List synchronized, making the "Viber" sign proudly showing next to your contacts :)

about your second point - while using Viber in your car, regular iPhone calls (cellular) don't need the Slide in order to unlock, but any application you are using WILL need the Slide. this is something we cannot control, unfortunately, because applications don't get permission to disable the Unlock.

about the delay you mentioned in point 3 - this highly depends on your 3G/WiFi coverage. we are looking into a possible improvement of this, but as a whole - it's out of our control as well.

What happens if you try to viber call someone who doesn't have viber installed yet?
Does it switch to normal cellular call? I'd rather the call didn't go through as it would suck $$ if it were a friend overseas.

If you call a non-Viber user, the call screen automatically switches to the regular iPhone call screen (which is grey, and not purple, like Viber's).

this way you are notified that the call switched to the regular cellular mode.

Hi Viber Team -

I've noticed that when using viber it doesn't seem to use any kind of background noise suppression like the iPhone does with normal phone calls. When I've spoken to people via Viber I can hear what is going on around them just as loud as the person I am talking to which is very distracting and makes it hard to hear them when they are in anything other than a very quiet room.

Can this be fixed?

I would like to Marry Viber, it's a killer app!

A friend of mine thinks its a conspiracy for the FBI to track you calls; kinda like how facebook is funded by the FBI too... but we don't care lol. Why would someone want to make an awesome app and charge NOTHING for it?

Talking of conspiracy's; I wonder if this app would stop telephone companies from tracking your voice calls.
As you all know 2degrees is a Majority Chinese owned company and there are huge forces behind the company which makes our government a little scared (some departments are forbidden from using them...).
I wonder who is best to track my calls; the USA or China? ... lol
