Krishant007:

I was looking at getting the Apple watch series 2 instead of getting a fitness tracker. Thought it might be a better device overall. I was looking at getting the nylon strap over the sports band. Any recommendations for either or?

Are you planning on running with it? It looks to me like the nylon would absorb sweat and get a bit gross, whereas the sports band should easily rinse clean with water each time you get sweaty.

I definitely will be running with the watch. Good point about the nylon strap. I will keep that mind when I am getting the watch.

Highly recommend the silicon sports band, easy to rinse clean and hygienicly sterilise while simply washing hands. Especially as the AW2 is officially waterproof too 👍

Mine arrived today. Space grey Sport 42mm.

Noticeably brighter outdoors. Everything happens quicker. Feels a lot smoother again probably down to increased processor power. Tiny bit thicker which I like.

Yet to try running (main thing I use it for) with GPS

Battery actually going a little better than my original series. 66 percent left at 7pm. Started wearing at 8:30am. Fairly heavy use setting it up and playing on it.

Nice.

Good to hear the screen is noticeably brighter as i found that an issue with the original model

Still no word for from the wonders of noel leeming online, despite the website stating that they may have to order it in (yet I have not heard a thing since I ordered).

I am starting to get pretty annoyed now. I didn't realistically expect them to get it within the one week timeframe that they originally quoted, but it's now coming up to two and a half weeks. It feels like they have deliberately misrepresented the delivery timeframe in order to score a sale.

As an aside, can anyone confirm whether the box specifies the colour, size and series 1/2? I don't entirely trust Noel Leeming to hand over the right product, so I want to be able to check before I sign for it and walk out of the store.

The box should show the model etc on the white sticker on the box like iphones/ipads etc.

I'll check the box in the morning and let you know. Pretty sure it will have model on it though.

Has anyone ordered a series 2 from apple in the last week or so? If so what date have they given? One on order with Noels, but no info on delivery, so may change to apple.co.nz

Checked today. It has the model number on. Clearly says Series 2 then the other model details space grey sport in my case.

Anybody else heard anything from their online orders with various sites?
Keen to hear if anyone has had an update or not

Well, I still haven't heard a peep out of Noel Leeming, three weeks after ordering and two weeks after their estimated delivery date. I wish I'd ordered directly from Apple but it's too late to do that now because I am changing jobs in a couple of weeks and I don't want to risk the package turning up after I have left.
