Hi,

Regarding the sound filtering when you talk - it is a good point you raise. we will look into the matter, and hopefully be able to improve the sound quality soon.

About the inability to personalize ringtones - this is something we are aware of.  we are working towards making this feature available in a future Viber version. stay tuned in our website for updates.

Viber Team.

Theres no way to tell if another viber user is currently connected to a data network? So if i ring a viber friend who is overseas and hes currently NOT connected to a data network (for one reason or the other) it'll switch to a normal gsm cellular call=$$ toll call.

I think viber should alert the user thats its switching to gsm call if the friend isn't on data network. Or does it do something like this already?

I'm just interested in what happens as all the viber calls Ive made to other viber users have been while they were connected to data.

Hi ALTRON,

basically, if you have a friend in your Contact List, and that friend has Viber (the purple "Viber" badge appears next to his name) then everytime you call him through Viber, the call would be free (even if he doesn't pick it up, or his iPhone is even off). you, as the caller, would see the purple Viber call screen, and then the call would time out if he doesn't pick up.

The call screen turns grey, only if you try to call a friend that DOESN'T have Viber installed at all. then, the call is switched to regullar cellular mode, and as i said - you can know about it by the fact that the screen turns grey, and not purple.

in our next version of Viber, we will include such alert that tells the user that the call is switching to cellular mode, thus costing money :)

Hope this helps,
Viber Team.

Using it. Loving it. Keeping it.

Great call quality, low bandwidth usage, overall a good app.

I had no problem signing up, however my mate who I usually call with this app did have a delay of 4-5 hours before the activation code came though (He is on Vodafone).

Give it a whirl, costs you nothing. If you need someone to test it with, let me know.

Cant seem to answer viber calls with the inline remote on apple earphones?
(or probably any other brand?)

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Yep, iPhone applications do not integrate with accessories like apple earphones, by definition.
there is nothing we (Viber) can do in order to help :(

For now, the only way to answer your calls is through the iPhone itself...

Thanks for the concern!

Right now we focus on new features, and product development.
At a later stage, we're not certain when yet, we will launch premium services (like calling landlines from Viber, for example) which will be paid services. the current services (Viber-to-Viber and the soon-to-come Text Messaging service) will remain free of course.

But this is not something that's gonna happen soon. Before it does happen we will let our users know, so stay tuned :)

Hi,
Thanks for the message.
I'm afraid that Viber officially supports iPhone 3G and above, and it is stated in our website :(
If it still doesn't get passed the "continue" button even after Push Doctor, then that must be the reason..

We apologize.

viber.
