I cant get over this! people in the UK and US had theres a week after ordering! we had to wait 2 weeks on top of that to order, and now 3-4 weeks on top of that! i cant wait until Apple opens, they are going to get an ear full, i will see what i can find out and report back.
Yeah I could underestand if it was after an intial stock order was full but sounds like it was 3-4 weeks from the time it hit the website. It's not like have never known the date!
That's the only thing I find annoying about generally a great company/device. When they release it's always so exclusive - it's clever but I don't know how long Apple can go on with that strategy.
I too will be keeping an eyeout for any outright purchasing but from what I have heard I think that will be very unlikely from XT or VF within the next 4 weeks.

It's a phone. If you were really that desperate to buy one you should have pre-ordered or got in line.
That wasn't an option for anyone wanting to buy the device outright. I would have if they offered it, believe me. My company pays for my phone usage so a contract is useless to me.

If you would of read above, i am from the UK... why would i want to take out a contract? its quite clear i want to buy the phone outright.

LOL yeah, agreed. They can do pretty must what they like. As much as I am frsutrated, I just want it now--I don't blame them. It still amazes me the "pull" they still have. Awesome stuff.

Isn't apple's logic it ships in 3-4 weeks, and then takes a few days to get to NZ. So there estimate is ships in 4 weeks plus a few days to ship.

Sadly, this is what we have to deal with a lot of the time in NZ. Being a smaller, far away market tends to do that.
I don't want to give you false hope, but when I heard there would be a delay on Lightning cables, I ordered mine on the 25th, was given 2-3 week estimate. It landed in NZ this morning and will be delivered Monday at the latest.

No I can remember when I ordered the 4 it had 3-4 weeks shipping as well. But I received it in the 3 week mark.
I don't mind waiting. Waited well over 4 weeks to get the retina MacBook. I'd say certainty is better than what Vodafone tried to pull yesterday. Perhaps it might work if they announced the draw it earlier rather than on the day.
