I wonder if Carplay is required for this. I don't have Carplay but I've noticed that my device shows traffic information on the lock screen whenever I'm in the car, so I assume it has awareness of when it's in the car based on whether it is connected to the car's bluetooth.

Mine's the same. As soon as it pairs with the car audio system (ie when the car is turned on) it'll tell me how long it will take me to drive to wherever I normally go at that time of day.

So far I've only noticed one issue with iOS10 on my iPad - the touch screen completely stopped responding after I exited from a game. Had to do a hard reset. It's only happened once. Still trying to get my head around the unlock process now. I've turned the "touch to unlock"on for my iPad Pro but half the time I'm still trying to swipe out of habit and I end up confused as to what I should be pressing. I don't deal well with change, lol.

Ive found with one customer and his 2 staff all running iPhone 6's that itunes will sync fine but the phone wont come up in explorer anymore unless they reboot the phone first each time - they manually transfer their photos for the day via this method.

I noticed this as well but didn't know it was potentially a bug as I haven't transfered photos in years!

So far I am really liking some of the features, like when I unplug from carplay the phone records where my car is parked!

battery life was starting to get shorter and shorted but this refresh seems to have it back on par with what it was new.

So far no bugs.

That is the great thing about Apple, they support their devices with iOS updates for years, all devices get updated at the same time, and when updated it feels like a new device. Only issue is when they release updates that end up slowing down older devices, making them almost unusable. Eg the iPad 2, iPhone 4s, iPod touch 5 gen all very laggy under ios9

True, BUT, those devices are very very old considering the generations of their components. If you consider you're getting roughly twice the performance with each updated device, the iPad 2 is like 32x slower than the latest iPad Pro, give or take. I take your point though, if they know it's going to be such poor performance they should just draw the line and not offer the update to those devices.... but then you'll get all the complaints from the people feeling forced into upgrading. Apple can't win.

When you say restart is that the phone or the PC.

This seems to be an issue with my iPhone6S+

You need to restart the phone to get it to transfer. Then again each time you want to do it.. Really fun..

Some if the problems are Apples making eg. The ipod touch was released with an old generation chip, so was always laggy from day one, and they have done the same thing with some ipad models. Also most of these devices were slowed down a lot by ios7 and the new interface changes, so some devices only had a year before they were slowed down. The jump between 7-8, and 8-9 was less dramatic in terms of performance loss. The other thing is that Apple forces the updates on devices unless they download a third party profile to disable them. And then you can't downgrade to an older version of iOS if you find it too slow, because apple remove the certificates. If you could downgrade to an older version of ios on an older device, to keep it working, I think it would make people a lot happier. Even though a lot of newer apps won't be supported.

A little slower but not laggy. I think ios 10 is the last version for the iphone 6 and 5s, before it gets noticeably laggy. So that is where those users may want to stop updating. Not unless ios11 is going to be more efficient than ios 10. But that has not been the case so far from my experience, as ios10 is noticeably slower than 9.

I've noticed a couple of quirks with my work phone, a 5C. Firstly when receiving a call in the car via bluetooth, traditionally a call would come through, ringing through the speakers and stop the music, I'd hit the answer button, and the ringing would stop and I'd speak.

Now, the ringing will come through the speakers, radio stops, I press answer, then the radio comes back on for two seconds, then stops, and I can speak. It feels like I'm pressing the hang up button instead.

The other quirk is the email presentation. Unfortunately for work we currently have a giant signature, when I receive a new email in reply to say an existing conversation of 10 emails, it will open to that email so I can read it. Which is fine. The problem is going back into the email and the default font is absolutely tiny. The phone is being replaced next week so I'm hoping it's just a quirk of the 5C. Other than that I've not noticed anything other than cosmetic tweaks and tapping the home button screen twice to get to the pin.
