PBTech supports 'online EFTPOS' which is a considerably safer than using those dodgy internet banking scraping solution... and quicker than doing internet banking.

With that being said, I've decided to upgrade my Series 4 to an ultra whilst also using this as an excuse to get a 14 pro max too. My existing phone can become a hand-me-down for the children :)

I will probably get the Ultra. I got my last one interest free on Spark - I wonder if they will offer the Ultra the same way?

So I would insist on an Apple discount for the iWatch 8. After all, I can't use the ovulation story in its full functionality. 😄

You can still use it to time your eggs. Soft-boiled or poached?

m1dday:

The 14 pro looks very promising - might just be time to retire the old 8+, this looks like the upgrade I've been waiting for. 🤣

The 14Pro reads like a fantastic device. More camera with the added smartphone bits! I'll be placing a pre-order for one as mentioned before.

Now for the colour decision!

I was sitting quietly pondering the world the other day and something occurred to me.

Not so long ago, we marked the passing of time by agricultural activities, religious observances and so on.

Now, we mark the passing of time with new mobile device releases and an annual spendathon related to them.

That is a sad reflection on our world, I think.

The many tech related manufacturers could have solved the Chip shortage easily by having a gap year in this insane cycle of must haves every few months.

I wonder how long it'll take for 2Degrees to implement eSIM for wearables? The Watch Ultra really appeals, but at that price, I would want it to be cellular equipped as well (yes I know it's a cellular device, but it needs to be activated).

The whole point of a watch like that is to go on a full day of mountain biking, hiking, surfing or whatever and not take your phone with you - or leave it locked in the glovebox.

My ideal use-case is to go for a whole day of biking, while tracking my ride and being completely contactable (as I would be with my phone on me) whilst not having the worry of having my phone in my pocket.

I am watching this with interest also, as I really want to get the SOS feature available on my series 6 watch when I am out running.

My impression is that they have a lot of work to do as it will require their network to deliver phone calls to two separate devices in parallel, as well as all the billing complexities as they will presumably want to charge a monthly fee for the service. I'd be surprised if they get it done in the next three months, but I hope I'm wrong.

So Spark is still the only carrier with esim for wearables?

Doesn't sound like 2D will have it sorted soon sadly

Spark is the only one listed on Apple's site.

Good comparison of Watch screen size difference on the Apple website:

Interesting, I thought the Ultra screen was much bigger. But it isn't really. And by that comparison it looks like the Series 8 would get more on the screen than the Ultra?!

Surprising to see just how much of a black border there is on the Ultra. I think Apple were careful not to highlight this in the keynote by using dark screen images.
