Hi all,

Found this update on iTunes this morning, was about 749megs and the iPad 3rd gen ver was just over 1gb gig in size.

Main thing I've noticed so far is the Battery Life seems to of significantly improved, at the same time appears to be been a carrier update for Vodafone so wondering if that had something to do with it also (didn't see the update come through on the iPhone but def saw it on the iPad)

Updated iPad2 and iPhones. Also got the alert on the iPads but not on the phones (4 and 4S), had to manually check if the update was for them as well. Can't say I have noticed anything different.

I saw the update last week, but have held off from updating. I've had ongoing battery problems with my iPhone 4 for the last five months - it seems to drain quite fast some days (showing identical usage and standby figures in Settings), while other days it doesn't drain as fast (but still shows identical usage and standby figures). This seems to have been one of the most common iPhone problems, but I've had no luck with the myriad suggested solutions online. I've tried everything from a Network Settings reset (fixes the problem until the following morning, following a full change), to a full reset and restore, deleting mail accounts and re-adding them, deleting my Exchange mail account, turning off location services, turning off push, etc etc. Nothing seemed to solve the problem without crippling the whole point of a smartphone. However my phone seems to have fixed itself these last few days, and it's been reporting accurate standby/usage figures going on four days now, and still has about 55% battery at the end of the day. So I'm reluctant to upgrade to 5.1.1 in case it adds a new bug to the mix or breaks my battery "fix." I can't see anything in 5.1.1 that adds anything particularly useful, so I'll just wait until the next major IOS update...

Ok, I haven't even tried to use that yet on the iPad.
