Or here if you want the NZ specs and pricing https://www.apple.com/nz/iphone-se/
Nice to see dual SIM and Qi. Basically an updated iPhone 8. Newer processor, dual SIM, more LTE bands, better WiFi.
So it's the same size as an 8 (or 7), but has the same chip as the current 11, but a single rear camera rather than the dual/triple? And instead of being $1399 for 64gb, its $799 for 128gb.
Oh and no face id crap, at least has the touch sensor again. If I need to wake the phone up when it's in it's holder in the car, I don't want to be mucking around with face id or pins.
Sounds like a no brainer for someone with a 7 that prefers touch id.

$799 for 64GB I think.
And $899 for 128GB, $1099 for 256GB
Red/black/white colours. Dimensions seem identical to 8, so presumably same cases and other accessories.
RunningMan:Saw on Macrumours that the 8 cases fit perfectly, so that indicates it's the 8 chassis with only internal upgrades (which is perfect for those that love Touch ID).

They also appear to have significantly thinned out their line up, both the Xs and Xs max have been dropped, leaving only the Xr and the SE as alternatives to the 11s..
That said the new SE is reasonably specd and priced ....
Hopefully this is super successful and a similar Android phone is made. My wife would love a phone this size, but not Apple.
Prob will buy mum one of these. Although I loath the Apple walled garden, I've learned how much better iOS's support for hearing aids is.

I was like this once as well but switched to iOS and never looked back. iOS is getting better all the time and I like how my phone "just works" and gets software updates on a timely manner.

Ooh me likey... I always was a fan of this design, and I like Touch ID. I also find the 11/XR too big to comfortably hold, and the 11 Pro is just plain expensive.
The savings I've made not being able to eat out over lockdown are burning a hole in my pocket...
iPhone 4 bought in 2010 (max iOS 7.1.2 - 2014)
iPhone 7 bought in 2016 (Current iOS 13.4.1 - 2020)
Working on our past buying cycles our next iPhone would be 2022. Hopefully by then the next SE will be released. So will skip this release. But I know family members that might be interested.
Never been interested in the plus size or the all bells and whistles iPhone and besides could not justify the costs. But we will still stay within the Temple Job's.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Finally an attractive offer for me. Been on 6S since 2015 with a dying battery (already 1 battery replaced) and refused to upgrade because of the increasing price tag.
Side note, just checked batt replacement and its $85, did they drop the price? I remembered it being $100+ not that long ago.
@Nate001 I think they separated out the shipping component of the price. Add $25 for shipping.

$800+ for a phone design that is, what, 5 years old?
That said, I want a small phone and there is no android option anymore, so the move to iOS looks inevitable. So when my Galaxy S10e needs replacing, this is a realistic option.
