I'm getting the problem that my txt messages are not being sent, they are stuck at around 90% on the progress bar and stays there. The only way to fix it is to do a complete reboot of the phone, but the problem comes back several hours later.

I have the latest iPhone firmware and its not jailbroken, bought from VF roughly a month ago.

thanks in advance

I have seen that on occasion. Only happened twice that I remember in the weekend. Sent a text message and the progress bar hung. I think it did sort itself out and send.

I don't remember turning the phone off.

Actually I am having the same issues, iPhone4 latest firmware .. also bouts of 'no service' and TXT messages that come in a batch of 3-4 at a time rather then when they were sent.  (eg: 10m apart)

including myself, asked Vodafone no issue there end, ive had beta 4.2 for a while now and dont recall having the issue recently, apart from one occasion. im thinking it was a bug, or i did hear mention of text hangs, when the transition when you are on 3g and then off 3g it sometimes hangs.

but it used to happen quite often, its annoying as hell.

simple logic.

I have had this a couple of times on my 3GS but I have found that if I leave it for what seems like a very long time (probably two or three minutes) then it eventually goes through.

This issue has been reported and similarly reproduced by Vodafone in this thread:
http://forum.vodafone.co.nz/topic/5983-sms-problem/page__st__40

No fix yet, but hopefully something soon.

Don't worry, at least we are on the trusted network.

I get that occasionally on my iPhone on Vodafone.
Vodafone Help Desk's solution was to go into Settings > General > Network > Disbale 3G.
This fixes the problem for me everytime i get it.  Then after an hour or two I re enable 3G.

Excuse me while I try to get excited about that "solution".

I totally agree!
To be honest, I first had this problem over a year and a half ago on my 3G, so by now I am unfortunately just used to it :(   Sad but true.  Only had it once on my iPhone 4 though, so was feeling pretty happy till this morning when it happened.

It seems to be happening less to me lately, a few weeks ago it was happening multiple times a day. Now it happens probably once every few days.

I used to get this alot....since i got my iPhone 3G at that launch.  Only at my house (Titirangi) and only in the evenings.  Only solution I had was to turn off 3G and it would work fine.  I used to blame my iPhone but had similar issues when I replaced it with an Android phone on VF.

I hassled VF about it at the time but they could never reproduce the fault and kept telling me it was my phone.
