Just a note that the second M2 port is a bit odd. Did you get the NucBox G3 or NucBox G3 Plus?

I have the NucBox G3 and it has a different key to a standard M2 NVME SSD.

Should look something like this:

This is an A+E‑keyed M.2 slot, meant for a Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth card.

It's a "B+M" key used for SATA drives: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HDDTRSI12064/Transcend-Embedded-M2-2242-SSD-512GB-SATA3-BM-Key

As long as the M2 drive is 2242 sized and specifically says SATA, it should be OK.

Nothing odd about B+M. I asked Chat-GPT what the second M.2 interface was and it said A+E - I never learn. Sorry.
