Howdy people,

I have a buggered 3.5" SATA drive and I want to plug it into an external to see if I can rescue data before it goes for warrenty replacement. The device causes my PC to freeze when connected internally, so I doubt the USB method will work.

I am looking for the power and mounting components, and not wanting to pay a lot for them. Does anyone have an old enclosure, or part of an old enclosure (as in the connectors without the "enclosure" part) they would be willing to part with on the cheap? Just a reference, new cheap ones are $15 + $8 Courier on TM

I'm in Ilam CHCH, so if it's to be shipped I'd be paying for good ol snail mail :)

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you.

Hey

I am in Christchurch (St Albans) and I'm pretty sure I've got one in a draw somewhere. I don't really want to part with it as it comes in handy sometimes but you are welcome to borrow for a while if that suits.

That would suit me perfectly, would just have to check and see if I can get out there (no car so bribing people). I don't need one permanently so a lend is just dandy

Another option for pickup would be from South City during the day some time, preferably round lunch time, if thats better for you.
