Got a desktop here I thought I would use for something when I got it. First was going to be a media center/server, then an android build server, but really it is just hanging around taking up space.
The thermaltake case, mobo, cpu, cooler and half the RAM I got for free from another forum member, drspangle who was clearing them out.
I have added a new AMD 6450, another 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hdd and a second 640GB hdd, a wifi card, dvd drive, card reader and chasnged out the screws that did not fit properly.
I also still have the blanks removed to fit the card reader and dvd drive.

Running ubuntu 14.04 at the moment and does not have a windows license.
Thinking $150 to cover the bits I put into it.
Pickup would be in Pakuranga, east Auckland.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L. PSU is a Thermaltake 430 watt unit.
Cooler is a Vantec stealth 2, but I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 if the buyer wants it too.

Would this be capable of playing something like Battlefield 3?  Also would you ship to Wellington?

Thanks.

I don't know battlefield 3 specs, but I would say you would need a better graphics card and it may still struggle as it is only a dual core CPU.
Probably better as a home or home theater pc as it is set up now.
Not keen to ship it sorry.

Would be keen just to try out your home theater pc set up as is on Ubuntu but don't have $100 to spare. If it doesn't sell and you decide to kind of give it away for lesser price I'd be keen.

I play Battlefield 3 (single player) on my C2D 7500 with a 9800GTX video card - it runs ok with a lot of the gfx options turned down/off.

So this would probably run it but you'd want to upgrade to a decent video card.
