Selling the DAS Mechanical Ultimate Silent (Brown Cherry keys) keyboard. Been used mostly at my work. But its getting too noisy and I'm getting complaints from some of my friends at work. Very sad to see it go, but I have one for my home computer already so dont need 2.

Why get this keyboard you ask? Well, in the few months I have had this keyboard, my typing skills have improved significantly! I am able to touch type with ease now without needing to look down at the keyboard. Have a look at the reviews online for DAS keyboard - they are rated as some of the best in the world! I bought this keyboard thinking, well, I spend about 8-9 hours at work and most of it is on a keyboard.... I should get a damn good keyboard. So I got this!

Features: comes with a built in USB hub, long connector cable (2 usb ports), Brown Cherry keys (they provide a more tactile feedback). I still have the box if anyone wants the original package.

Note, this is the ultimate version so does not have any of the keys labeled - thats what helped my touch typing the most! it took me about a week to get used to the fact there were no keys (i used a reference keyboard during this time ;)) But since then, havent had the need to look at a reference keyboard.

Pickup from Ellerslie or Auckland CBD. Looking for 170 (brand new sold for 250 ). Quite a decent price for this awesome mechanical keyboard.

Please PM me any decent offers.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

haha.. they are probably the quietest mechanical switches (and i really like the feedback they provide!), but I have still had a few complaints from my neighbours... So before the complaints escalate further, i think its wiser for me to get a more conventional keyboard i guess.

Funny enough I am in the market for a mechanical keyboard, and was looking at a few including the happy hacker keyboard, but LOVE the sound of one without symbols!  However, just how noisy is this?  Compared to the crappy keyboards in any generic office, are we talking about CLACK CLACK level, or quieter?  I would hate to find myself back on geekzone in a month, creating a thread to sell my keyboard that is too loud ;-)

lolol.. hmm... its not that loud to be honest (not like the blue switches which are the clicky clacky ones). If you go on the DAS website, and scroll near the bottom of the page, there is the audio recording of the keyboard that you can hear. Hmm, the sound actually gets louder if i start typing hard. But if i am typing normal, the sound is like any other random office noise to me. I guess when i get in the zone and start typing, i hit the keys a bit harder.

Partly depends how hard you type. If you bottom them (the keys) out they're louder than if you type with just enough pressure to activate the key. I've got an orange switch from Razor and I think my hubby's regular keyboard is louder because he really pounds on the keys.

Check out cherry red switches.  They're linear and aren't clicky...  I've got a ten-keyless CM Storm and absolutely love it.

Complained brown switches loud?, go in with a blue or green switch one day and show them whats loud :)

Although, they might appreciate the sound of blue/green switches. They are dam too good.

Haha.. yes I told them that mine was the silent version. But then again, if you do hit the keys hard, you can hear a more audible click. I think that was what annoyed some people the most... It didnt annoy me (i had my headphones on! haha)
