I'm basically looking for a LGA775 motherboard (CPU just needs to be either a e8400 or a Q6600 and ram not needed but would be considered) for basically a really simple file server RAID set up + other things in between. Why I need an E8400 or a Q6600? It completely destroys my current Athlon 5800+ that I currently have in a shuttle XPC.

Will consider all offers.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

My teenagers LGA775 PC with Intel motherboard is awaiting upgrade to a better one I was given a few weeks ago.  I'm in East Auckland.  Works well, but occasionally does not boot up (presumably PSU) and needs to be turned off and back on.  No concern if it is running 24/7, just occasionally have this boot-up quirk.  Also found the chipset running hot (SFF case) so I've added a fan and run it with an open case.  Assuming I manage to transfer the hard drive with Win7 Home (family pack) license to the new PC without too much reactivation issues, then the old one is available for free.  Just been a bit busy to work on it.  Interested?

What's the motherboard model and which intel chipset is it?
Thanks.
Also I live in Whangarei but I can arrange shipping.

I might have a EVGA 780 Motherboard, 4GB Memory and QX6850 Extreme Edition Processor.

Let me know if you are interested, I will have to hunt around and see if it is still here.

I have an old motherboard and processor at home, I think it was a Q6600 and Asrock something, will have a look, it does have 4GB ram a fan etc as well.

I replaced it with a new AMD recently as I wanted to run 8 drives.

Will let you know what I have tomorrow.

I'll first need to setup the kids new computer, might take a while, but it will be free when it is free ;-).  Let me know if you find something else as I can then lower the priority on the to-do list (or "The List").

Sorry this was disposed on during a ruthless cleanse of junk I wouldn't likely use again :(

I am sorry to say that unfortunately the PC that I was given is much slower than the ones my kids currently use.  Was about to let you know when I saw your post.  The one I was given is an old AMD in a new box.  You know you can get a C2D off-lease PC from PB Tech for around $70?

That's slightly unfortunate. Also an off-lease PC is a bit much for me to shell out. Thanks for peaking your interest though.
