Bought a EVL-4CG for an alarm I was going to have installed so I could use it in home automation/via smartphone, but decided to go with morepork instead. So surplus to requirements, never used, still in the box. Bought from ebay (quoted $250 locally).
It basically connects to your alarm, and then you can plug a ethernet cable into it and connect it to your network. Works well with openHAB etc.
Works with smartphone apps on Android and iPhone.
