I've been looking at buying one of those Edifier speaker sets, are they good?

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

Ive got a non BT set of Edifiers (was around $130 new), and I'm impressed with the sound - bass could be a little better (and could be with this version on offer) but overall I've got no complaints with the Edifier range :) Nice looking, nice sounding, nice price ;)

Yeah, Edifier speakers in general really excels in price/performance ratio.

Bass is present and well controlled, rattle the room it won't.
It has bass and treble knob on the side although lacks a sub out, so adding one later on is not going to be straightforward.

We have a set of R1700BT in our kitchen/dining area and they’re perfect in that environment.  Not audiophile quality sound but for general music listening they do the job
