I really hope that they're confusing it with the TBs they were offering for referals...
It was definitely a bad idea to offer such a promotion.

I think you will find the CSR has become confused between the two offers.
I've sent this Scott's way for clarification.

Yes there is some confusion by the rep here.

The joining offer was only a TB for three months, and hasnt been extended.

Appoligies for the miscommunication.

Remember that there was two promotions:

The one by referal, and the one by sign-up.
The sign-up one was 3 months, the referal one was 1 year.

Not too easy to get mixed up when you either:
1. Only know of one of the promos.
2. Don't really know about the promos.
3. Are trained to give customers the run-around.

I would like to see what they have given you.  It strange how Slingshot had basicly two promotions on with the same name.

My might be the lucky winner.  When is it due to expire if it was for three months?

thanks guys for the replys

all i can say is the help desk are a  bunch of  half wits ,they don't even know whats going on in  there own back yard

after 3 phone (once to the accounts, 2  times to the tec department ,days apart ) calls and a confirmation email ,they said i got my data for 12 months

i didn't believe them, cause u know when things are to good to be true they normally not , thats why i started this thread

after i emailed scott on slingshots forum i  finally got what i knew all along that it was for 3 months

it just shows us how incompetent these help desk people are  and with a  confirmation email to prove it   (in all the phone calls they said they doubled checked )

they did say they were sorry for the confusion but quite frankly its not good enough

disgusted

To be honest, if you communicated as poorly to the SS staff as you have here on this forum, I can see why they might have been confused. You write like a six year old. Also, I don't think you have much reason to feel so undignified. You knew what the deal was when you signed up, and this minor miscommunication hardly changes anything.

No need for personal attacks.  The helpdesk was to blame.

The 'help' desk is always to blame. (It is useless.)

It wasn't an attack on his person, it was attack on his inability to communicate effectively, which is almost certainly why they weren't able to understand what he wanted.

How one types and how one speaks over the phone can be two entirely different manners.
People may be brilliant speakers, but rubbish when it comes to putting it on paper be it dyslexic or otherwise. Likewise with writing and rubbish speaking.

Those people make up the exception - generally speaking, illiterate people are poor writers and poor speakers, and intelligent people both speak and write well.
