I was transitioned to EUBA this morning. My upstream went from 184kbps to 680Kbps. Pretty happy about that. Downstream took a pretty hard hit, going from 2.1Mb/s to 1.7Mb/s. The joys of being 4.5KM away from the exchange! :(

There is definately something odd going on because I also have some issues connecting to specific websites - all of which were working fine yesterday - the ISP says " no issue" the website host says "no issue" and I can browse to the sites using proxies - but not directly.

  • The DNS has not been changed

  • Local cache has been cleared

  • Tried Flush DNS

  • Tried altrernate browsers

  • Other users also can't connect to the same site

  • Other sites on the very same server are fine

  • Tracert produces an error "Unable to resolve target system"

All very mysterious.  It is like their is a country-wide issue with certain domains.

Just wondering how you guys are doing that were migrated over to the EUBA? I am not on that. I don't think I can get on that because of my area and still having the same issues as the last 10 days :(

I was migrated to EUBA this morning and all my problems are solved.  I have a higher upstream with slightly lower downstream rate.  P2P traffic is working again and I can download from international websites, log in to my games and play steam games as I would have a week or so ago.

BUBA at the best of times is a big problem.  EUBA is much better if you are eligible.

Found out today that I can't be migrated to EUBA because our exchange isn't set up for it.

Unbelievable, but totally expected because Telecom in their monopolistic ways took us for a ride all those years ago.

At the moment it doesn't sound like there is a fix other than move to EUBA or move ISP, third world country...

I know, it is quite crap.  I thought I'd be in the same position as you!  The more people moved from BUBA to EUBA the better.  The less people on BUBA means the experience is better for everyone remaining.  I'm not sure how much of a difference moving ISP's is going to make.  I hope they get it sorted soon!

Moving to EUBA has given me access to google and dropbox again but it's not like the connection's any better:
