I'm aware of that. I'm not complaining but it's got progressively slower in the last day compared to the last two weeks.

Still, thankfully I have Telecom DSL as the primary connection for when I need things in a hurry

Slingshot: Hi Altron,

Trace looks ok, As Jarsky says we cannot overly troubleshoot d/l speeds from your seedbox but if you could do some generic speed tests and some nat/int downloads to see if everything is effected we can go from there,

If you PM me your account details i can start looking at things from this end to make sure nothing is out of place,

Thanks,
Joe.

I'm away from home at the moment so can't do speed tests. But at the time I did a few speed tests to local servers and they were fine=20megabit line.
My slingshot connection to seedbox has been great (full 2.2MB/s download speed at any hour) For the 3 weeks since ive had it.
I'm aware of the network priotization but I consider 100KB/s too slow for a connection that's been running well.

Who knows, it may of been a tech blip. I'll Check it when I get home tomorrow (Friday )

Could I get some help with my phone line please.

A week ago I moved my phone line to Slingshot so now all my broadband and phone services are with them.
I know Slingshot have gear in the exchange I am on and I should be able to get the cheaper $41 line rental and go on an LLU connection for broadband, however when I got the letter in the mail I see I am paying $51 a month for line rental and am still on a Telecom wholesale connection is this right?

TECHMEISTER:

Unfortunately not all homelines can get Slingshots Better Network, even when we have equipment installed in the exchange - there are a number of factors, including cabinetization, distance from exchange and cabinet -type which can determine this.

We have a fairly accurate eligibility checker on our Slingshot website at www.slingshot.co.nz - (top left of page).

Give that a go, and then head into the bundles section of the website to see which pricing and services apply at your physical address.

Also - feel free to email me directly with your account number.

Hi Scott

I have done this and the cheapest price goes down by $21 so I assumed I can get on an LLU connection

We have the Slingshot unlimited broadband plan. I was online checking the bill. I noticed the option to "activate free dialup", thinking free dialup could be useful when travelling, I activated it. 10 minutes later, the broadband shuts off. What I didn't realise was that activating free dialup would change our plan to dialup instead of keeping broadband. I phoned customer care and they claimed that the ADSL password had been changed and insisted that I set a new one. I loaded the new password into the modem and restarted it but no, the internet still didn't work. While I was on the phone, the operator claimed the internet would work fine without even restarting. Now I'm using the internet tethered from my phone and can't activate the broadband. PLEASE could someone help!

Hi JoshWright - you can only use your credentials for one concurrent session i.e. use Dialup or use Broadband, but not both at the same time.

I don't think that you should have been required to change your password, unless it was for a different reason.

If I PM'd you the account number do you think you'd be able to switch us back onto broadband? We did test the dialup earlier this morning but disconnected when we finished.

My international FTP speeds have taken a nose dive from 2MB/s to around 200KB/s any time of the day.
It started last Thursday evening. like someone flipped a switch=instant full time terrible download speed.

Speeds have taken a sharp dive since this morning, is this normal for the unlimited plan?

Download Speed: 983 kps (122.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1014 kps (126.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Packet Loss: 0 %
Jitter: 1 ms
Latency: 9 ms
Test Server: nz-akl

Hi HowickDota - something odd with your speediest there (may be a symptom) - your two slower speed tests show 500 miles distance to server and your original test shows 50 miles?

Can you please email your account number and I'll get the team to investigate in the morning.

Thanks

HawickDota: By any chance do you know how to find your line rates? Have your line rates taken a dive to?

Nah my line rates haven't changed at all, just got a splitter installed a month ago and I'm only about 150m from the cabinet.
