That depends on how todays call goes. If they sort the phone out I will keep at it. Otherwise I will tell them not to bother. And if they cant give me a time for the first sim card I will send it back

Not everyone is the same in their way of thinking.

When the offer is this stunningly good I am prepared to cut the company a little slack.

Don't get me wrong - I am prepared to cut some slack and realise how much demand they have had.  It's just that the last woman I spoke to was quite unhelpful, and I would at least like an estimate on when I will recieve the SIMS, given I was told they would arrive at roughly the same time.  Doesn't seem to much to ask for a little communication on when things are likely to happen, even if they will take a while.

Do what I did and ask Slingshot here to help you, or via Twitter.

Sure, ok, you shouldn't HAVE to do that to get customer service, but there comes a point when you really just have to cut through the tape and ask someone reliable to sort everything out for you.

I don't bother higher level support with every manner of enquiry but certain things (sounds like your situation is one of them) justifies the "escalation".

Good luck. I'm sure Slingshot would hate to lose you as a customer so give them another chance :)

Once up and going I'm sure you will be happy. But I plead with all my heart for Slingshot to make some pretty dramatic improvements to their CS - do whatever it takes please :)

Well, I was worried I would be asked to wait for courier bag, send 2630 back THEN would get 2730, but the helpful guy on the phone said they would send the 2730 and a courier bag at same time, so downtime will be minimal.  He could not see a dispatch of the SIMs in the computer, or a track and trace number, and said he would look into it.  Have just recieved an email saying both have been dispatched.

So a productive call today :)

I didn't have any problems, besides not being able to sign up online. I called the helpdesk and go through that in about 5 minutes on a tuesday night, they posted out my SIM/phone out and I got them on Saturday..  Hit activate on the website and sim was activated by tuesday morning.

After moving my data sim and mums spare phone to SS and it working fine I called to move my CDMA voice phone over on the last day. Got the phone today, no sim today tho. Charging up now.

Must say the keypad on the 2730 is rubbish to use. Mum doesn't want hers as a result, will stick with the old nokia.

Bit cheeky of Telecom guy to pop up and say 'is it worth the effort' methinks.

Perhaps if Telecom had put 'effort' into XT, offered 25c calls, free text and calls, free phone etc, people would make effort to stay with Telecom.

I for one had a seamless switch and delivery for the phones, ordered Thursday pm, arrived with sims Satdy morn.

I only saw Mauritio ask that. Are you thinking that he was asked to ask it by a telecom staffer or something?

You know what they say about assumptions...

But seriously, taking 5 seconds to look at his details on the left pane, and his sig, it should have been plainly obvious who he is.

I took into account the sticking up for Tcom from another thread too so there was more than just 5 seconds of work there. Anyways, I said my bad, so if I offended you, not-related then I apologise. And if I offended Freitism then I apologise too. Happy?

Is this a geek fight?
