vimfuego: Bit cheeky of Telecom guy to pop up and say 'is it worth the effort' methinks.

I asked that, and I am certainly not a Telecom employee. So what are you implying?

Ugh. All I was saying, after watching many posts of defending XT, and incorrectly assuming you were linked to the company as many people on these forums seemed to be linked to different ones, that it was cheeky popping up asking whether it was worth getting a heaps better deal from another company.

Honestly, it wasn't sposed to be massive.

Seriously, I don't defend XT or any other product/service/company. If you saw me defending it then the other poster was wrong, or I was playing Devil's Advocate, because most of the times people post things without much more than "I am posting because I hate [company name here]".

It's a position for the sake of argument.

Now back on topic.

I don't work or Telecom. I've stuck up for XT. Sometimes I stick up for Vodafone. Sometimes I criticise Vodafone and/or XT.

Just because someone sticks up for a point of view or a company it doesn't mean they represent or are employed by them. It could be possible they are a fanboy though :p

A rate of only 3c a min more than 2 degrees amazing rate, without the hassle of topups and running out etc, and it works to all networks.

Twitter works which is not working on 2 degrees.

Data options are available which are not on 2 degrees. (not very good ones at this stage, but when the supplied handsets are what they are, whats to be expected)

I know which is the best option at the moment and its not the one fronted by a "funny man"

Richms how does Twitter work on Voda/Slingshot?

Is it free to receive? Are tweets sent by txt included in bundles/free 100 txts?

I recall a while back Vodafone (IIRC) said that it was only an introductory offer and would be charged for?

I am pretty sure it was VF because I carried on using on a XT phone with no charges.

richms do you understand your Visibill? Mine is bloody confusing and I'm afraid of being over charged. Others are talking about it in a "billing" thread - perhaps you could share your experiences?

Not even looked at it yet. Will look later on. To be honest I am just going to be glad to not have calls stop working half way thru when running out of credit like on prepay. Will probably have a look soon to see how things look at some stage.

I went and emailed Slingshot re: Twitter and data and just received a reply now -

Apparently sending texts to Twitter and Facebook aren't included in their text bundles, similar to Vodafone. It's unfortunate because I was going to switch over if this this had not been the case.

And data usage is accumulated over the billing period and then multiplied by 40c.

It seems like XT prepay is the only one where texts to Twitter are included in their text add-ons.

Anyone else get their first bill yet? Mine has arrived and it's $27.36 even though I should only be charged $9.95 for the phone delivery.

The extra amount seems to be that they have charged 2 months 'mega talk' (month behind and month in advance) but only applied 1 XT customer credit.

Someone told me they were told by a Telecom store they could no longer reconnect to CDMA?

"How do I connect a CDMA phone?
You can connect a phone to the CDMA mobile network by calling us on *123."
