Jeez, it's been, and continues to be, a mission to get connected.
I'm on Maxnet naked ADSL, and filled out the form to switch last Friday. That's cool, sign up, get the email to say if you've already got ADSL, to give Slingshot a call and give out those details. All fine and good, get a date for install, Thursday the 24th.
Wednesday comes, and get a text message to say "Tomorrow is your install day! things might be up and down for 3 hours".
Come home from work, no dial tone on the line, ad the modem only gets auth from the Maxnet account, not if I put in the Slingshot one. That's ok, I figure, it's still technically the 24th until midnight.
Friday rolls around, still no change, so I ring up.
Turns out the tech was waiting for if it needed to be a full install (ie wiring) or not. Ok; valid-ish question if it was a new install, but not so much if it's a transfer - and doubly so if it was No on the form I filled in. Maybe it was misread, or something down the line, however, once it was raised it wasn't ever asked of me! I had to ring up a day after the install date.
Anyway, that got sorted and I was was told I'd be contacted and told about a new install day. Doesn't come on Friday, but that's fine.
This morning, however, I get a text and an email to say I'm connected. No dial tone, no connection to the 'net unless I put back in the Maxnet user.
At this point, I just need one or the other of my ISP's to be out of the picture - as it'll be over a week now of essentially paying for both at the same time.

Hi Slingshot

I rang up on Friday to change from Telecom to Your uncapped plan and now my 2talk VOIP phone cannot receive incoming calls and when I log into my old Slingshot account (been with you before) I see my 2talk phone number in the visibill lines description part which should not be there.
Have they maybe used the wrong phone number? I did not want to port my Telecom phone line at all just toll calls and broadband.

Just been connected today, and downloads from my newsgroup server have dropped from around 800kbps with my previous ISP to under 4kbps

It been like this from about 10am this morning till right now. There's traffic shaping and then there's this, which amounts effectively to a total block, and I'm extremely dissatisfied

I'm on the 250g plan, which I opted for over the non-contract unlimited plan as I was advised by the CSR on the phone that it would be less throttled that the unlimited plan.

Completely mis-sold, very dissatisfied, and trapped in a contract I was advised to take by slingshot

Slingshot: Hi Username1,

This is most likely due to the off-peak period starting at 2am. Our network load goes up hugely at this time as tens of thousands of users turn on mass torrent and filesharing downloads.

That said, if you could send me your account info i'll take a look and see if we can do anything to help

I have signed up the $60 uncapped plan, does this mean my 18 yo will not be able to play WOW at 2am, if so he will not be happy.
I thought this plan was in a different bandwidth  pool? to the other plans?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

This will depend on your usage at 2am. I think he should be fine.

I need some help, Scott hasn't sent my router back for months now and appears to be ignoring my repeated calls to his mobile and office number, as well as any emails I send him.

I'm having a similar issue with my speeds. When I signed up, I was getting great speeds (synced at 1.041 / 20.795). Now, I'm only getting less than 7Mb down, often much lower (checked my speed at Slingshot Speed Test, which gives me similar results), and this is off peak.

I guess I should send my Account number to you too to check out?

Cheers,
Tarique.

Wonder if a kind Slingshot person could help with this issue.

I have friend that has built a new house and he wants to move his phone number to the new house.
He has his home line and broadband with slingshot, when he rang a Slingshot CSR he was told he could not do this, I can't remember the reason but it did not sound right.

Is there in fact an issue with this?

Could someone please have a look at this.
