Last 2 nights have been rubbish for us (also Orcon UFB). Constant buffering on youtube or imdb.

Yeah 15Db to one of the apartments in your building so probably not the best place for internet unfortunately...

Chorus Response - No accuracy guaranteed, use with caution
servingLwcName: AK - MDF
hdb3PresentInBinder: No
lineAttenuation: 15 - 15 dB
downloadRate: ADSL2+: 12.5 - 12.5 Mb/s, VDSL2: 0.0 - 0.0 Mb/s
uploadRate: ADSL2+: 1.0 - 1.0 Mb/s, VDSL2: 0.0 - 0.0 Mb/s
uploadLess300kb: No
urbanLevel: Unknown
resultPositive: BUBA FS/FS, EUBA 40, EUBA 90, EUBA 0, EUBA 180, BUBA 256/128, Baseband Copper
resultNegative: WVS 0, NGA, Baseband IP

VDSL requires at least 10.5 or below line attenuation but still doesnt explain the real slow speeds you getting.

From the sounds of things this may be a wider issue at orcon if UFB customers are also affected, maybe it's the unlimited plans?

Oriphix:
Athlonite: I'd move but I'm yet to find an ISP that offers what I have now for the same cost ie: 60GB and VOIP for $89pm

Snap offers that.

no they don't they offer

Naked ADSL2
Full speed download
Full speed upload
Zero-rated data to iSky and Igloo
50GB data per month
Broadband without a phone line
From
$70.00 per mon

no phone and 10GB less or phone and 35GB less than I have now erm I don't think that is in any way as good as I'm getting now as a plan

Speeds seem to be okay after 10? Anyone noticed? Guess that's off peak

No lag spikes etc. Downloading is back to normal as well.

It's still absolutely terrible for us. YouTube is barely watchable at 480p most of the time, torrenting is impossible... It seemed mostly okay at the beginning of the year too.

Would change ISP's but it'd be really hard to go back to capped after experiencing unlimited...

I've been easily able to stream 1080p Youtube since Friday. This is in Auckland Northshore. Standard web is getting better but I think P2P is still throttled at peak times.

Looks like they did something good...Just started a LoL game and my ping is 153..will see what it's like ingame but it looks promising. My ping is usually 170+, it's never been below 170.

Edit: Wow gaming is amazing! There's literally NO lag which I've ALWAYS had (no matter peak or not, I used to have this noticeable 0.5-1 second lag then moving for example).

Really hope it stays this way, as it not only improves my game but makes me want to stay with Orcon.

I got 15 mb to local sites. .35 mb to international sites

Just been on to the "lack of support desk" and they tell me its not there issue. If I have a .35 mb to international sites it not their issue.

Ummmmmmm ? Really? Is that a valid answer.

Seems like this old issue is raising is head.  http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=82&topicid=59344&page_no=1

Yeah I have noticed that as well. And if you view your in game ping its probably lower.
I was always at 170+ so it looks like they have made some changes, which is good.
Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Speeds still suck, esp torrents. When will this be fixed?

Can I get out of my contract because of this? Who reckons I can argue to get my early termination fee reduced or waived so I can go somewhere with decent speeds?
