I have installed it as well. The install went smoothly. So far working well. Has a lot of visual changes. just getting used to them. Not sure if its my imagination, but it seems performance seems a little snappier.

I've just migrated my X5 to the official Gingerbread Rom and I have to admit the phone appears to be a lot faster.

I'll probably try to re-root it at some point, but for the momen't I'm reasonably impressed.

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

Well it's been off the charge since 8a. this morning with wifi/3G on and Bluetooth off and it's still got 40% battery with higher than average use (getting settings right etc)... So a vast improvement over 2.2 when we only got 2/3rds of a day out of it.

Much much betterer. Happy girlfriend. ;)

I love gingerbread! It has really given the X5 a little more zip.
I am however, regretting not doing a proper backup... Thankfully the App Market remembers what I had previously installed (paid for apps) so re installing them is straight forward enough.

Just upgraded to Gingerbread. I would highly recommend it. The battery life and performance of the phone has vastly improved.

So, has anyone gone from a custom rom to this? I am currently using MIUI. Do I just do as noted in the file or do I have to do something first.

Also, anyone coming from MIUI, is it worth upgrading?

I put Miui on the wifes old X5 then went across to Oxygen then the first Huawei release and would recommend it. The custom roms excel in some aspects but fail in others, to me the factory GB seems more complete or stable.

Also oxygen overclocked to 1ghz and the factory rom remains at 800mhz and it didn't feel much different, and definitely not the chalk and cheese difference of 800mhz and 1ghz on froyo

And with install you just do as it states? No need to wipe first?

I'm currently running at 1.5ghz on my Huawei. I might try this rom and see how it goes. There is an OC kernel on XDA and I am sure people will get MIUI going stable on the .35 kernel.

Sweet. Might give it a try tomorrow. I just like MIUI a lot so going back to stock android when my current ROM is not broken may be a good or bad mistake.

There is a OC'd kernel for stock GB, I'm running 368~1.2 GHz. unlock screen seems snappier. Battery at 70% after 1 day with some light use, a couple app installed, and watched a few clips. tvnz ondemand 1500kbps over wifi seeing battery dive steeply though.

Didn't experience "call in volume too low".

My main issue with stock GB is that the atmel touchscreen became over sensitive - fingers a few mm above screen would trigger click events - this is particularly annoying when taking snap shots.

Interesting though, antutu info shows "Memory size" 590.6 MB, and "RAM size" 345.9 MB.

Well, GB install done.

I installed CWM and installed OC kernel. I tested with low call volume, no issue there. Working fine.

The only issue I found with stock roms were the volume through headphones. I'll test it to see if its loud like it was in MIUI.

I'd be interested to know if the wireless problems have been fixed. People on Huawei facebook page seem to think calls received while phone asleep are going straight to voicemail.
