I hope so. I too can connect to any online game and stay connected. Skype is working as it should. But will check again at around 4:30 PM. It's been working fine during the wee hours of the morning etc.

I had some bittorrent success this morning, not as fast as usual but it was going at least but it's slowed right down as of about 11am and getting slower. tvnz and the on-demand were ok this morning too when I tested them.
Got a message on Facebook from one of their support people Chris so I've messaged them my account number and details of what faults we're seeing.
Hopefully they'll be able to work out what's up, they are working on it.

Paper: Nevermind :L nets still abit slow tho

It typically cuts out around just after noon. 3am to noon are ok for connectivity. I'd give them a call. It's what I did and referenced this thread along with previous comments on ubatype.

They know there's a problem but they don't know how to fix it. At least that's the impression I got. Until then I've resorted to using a ssh tunnel.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

SSH is just a secure way of connecting to another computer/server so you must have somewhere to connect to which allows an SSH connection and for which you have an account to log in. You can pay to be able to connect up securely to a server in Europe for example and then out to the internet from there so it makes it hard/impossible for your ISP to know what you are doing, traffic shape etc. VPN is another way of doing this, there are even some free vpn servers out there but generally the free ones don't have particularly good bandwidth to the internet so performance isn't so good.

Since lunchtime or so my connection has worsened, most sites are pretty slow, gmail running like a dog and bittorrents totally dead again. tvnz gone again too, very odd that that in particular is affected.

Fingers crossed the tech guys are managing to track down the fault.

Just had word on Facebook that a request has been put in for my connection to be moved to EUBA in the hopes this will resolve things so fingers crossed.

Must say I'm pretty impressed with a company who are willing to take a comment on a facebook status, communicate with the customer promptly and take action to fix an issue with no necessity to call the helpdesk and jump through loads of hoops. Thanks to Chris for dealing with the problem.

I'll be even happier if I get my decent internet connection back too

Hey guys,

We've got a couple of ideas for a fix. Can I get anyone experiencing these issues to send an email to socialmediateam@team.slingshot.co.nz with your account number and a list of affected servcies. We're going to try and migrate any accounts that are eligible over to EUBA and this should, we hope, sort everything out.

Cheers,
Chris
