Perfectly normal. What are you expecting to get?
I just got it so don't know what to expect as normal ...

I am just looking at MR as one option. What are your suggestion?
I have read about the views perhaps more so in the past, but how is it now. I know they do a specific gaming option. From that I would presume some even hardcore gamers might have given them a try.
Friends don't let friends join MyRepublic. Stay away!
In terms of raw performance your best two options are Orcon or 2Degrees (formerly Snap).

That's normal, my PC with 1Gbps connection to switch, then edge router got around 600-700Mbps and now gets around 700-800Mbps after I updated the NIC drivers and removed some ad blocking software and disabled antivirus for the tests. This PC also scored the same connected directly to the edge router without the switch. I also noted that IE scored the consistently the best over other browsers.
My server with 10Gbps virtual nic, connected to virtual switch, connected to 10Gbps switch to edge router gets 940Mbps every time.
I think a lot of PC's with budget NIC's are not capable of reaching 940Mbps with these speed tests. Although I can copy data between my PC and the Server at home at 97+MBps all day, adding speedtest and browsers just seems slow things down.
Home Server: AMD Threadripper 1950X, 64GB, 56TB HDD, Define R6 Case, 10GbE, ESXi 6.7, UNRAID, NextPVR, Emby Server, Plex Server.
Lounge Media Center: NVIDIA Shield TV 16GB: Kodi18 with Titan MOD, Emby.
Kids Media Center: NVIDIA Shield TV 16GB: Kodi18 with Titan MOD, Emby.

Only 686mbit how terrible.....
You need to remember than many of these isp's won't have the infrastructure for 1gbit at the moment. This should get upgraded as they hit contention. Most need Juniper MX40's on backhaul. These things are $30,000 a pop. This is why you are not seeing it happen fast. Isps making $30-40 off your connection have huge investment to make.
Did your speed come back up yesterday afternoon?
Daughter is home from uni, so internet is getting a hammering as she catches up on all the stuff she missed while studying. She would have grizzled if our speed had dropped.
Just done speed test and getting 105mbs.
Things are getting better thank god.

Thanks
Now that MR have fixed the evening speed drop issue they had, I am happy with their service. Getting constant 105/21Mbs at any time of the day.
What are the reasons that you would not recommend them?
