There was a browsing issue earlier that has been resolved. Here is the post about it;
Today repairs were made to network hardware that may have affected some customer’s ability to browse web pages. If you are affected please reboot your modem and you should reconnect successfully.
Still problem with accessing theChive on SS connection (other websites could also be affected) as per this post http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=81&topicid=116021&page_no=5 I believe their images are hosted with Wordpress, so any other website hosting on Wordpress could be affected. Wordpress direct access is fine though.
After rebooting the modem I can access the inter webs for about 10 minutes before it goes back down again. Rebooting the modem again just had the same effect. It's not just web pages though, I can't connect to anything. Not sure if it matters at this stage of a known fault but I'm in Burnham, Canterbury.
Sorry guys for a blank post, what happened was I'm staying at my cousins place atm. She is on the AYCE plan, and this whole week since I've been there, some websites have been loading fine, while others have been failing to load all together. I appear to have fixed the problem, by using third party DNS servers. For me, I say Slingshot's DNS isn't up to scratch.
I've just set my PC and tablet to use Google's DNS and my issue was fixed instantly, going from a state of not working to working without rebooting the modern.
I'm another having problems loading sites on the web. (keep getting "Server Not Found") from sites like youtube, speedcafe , trademe even Slingshots home page wouldn't load. Been happening for a couple of weeks on & off, but quite bad the last couple of days. Rebooted the router again this morning, still the same " server not found " on sites. I changed the Primary & Secondary DNS around this afternoon & all the sites I've been having problems with have worked since then. Time will tell if this has fixed the problem.
I've had the some problems all week in CHCH. as others have said change the DNS on your router or laptop/iphone to open DNS or Google DNS and it should be fine
There were some browsing issues on the weekend that have hopefully been resolved. If you are still affected by Browsing issues, first you need to add manual DNS settings to your Modem (maybe computer as well).
Primary 202.180.64.10 Secondary 202.180.64.11
If the browsing issues persist, please PM me your account number so I can investigate it.
I can't connect to any international sites as of about 4:54am today, was working fine before then. I woke up early especially to see the new Xbox be revealed. I'm so gutted. :(
Hopefully i'm not the only one having issues.
EDIT: Tried those DNS settings, still nothing. Oh well, I did want to watch it live but at least I can follow Gameplanet. I really hope this doesn't happen during E3...
