Last thursday my fritzbox suddenly started regular rebooting, maybe 5 or more times per day and it rings the phones each time it finishes the reboot so it is especially annoying at night time.

Nothing has changed, the fritzbox is in the same place it has always been the last year and a half without issue (except for the odd internet 'freeze').

Phoned snap and they are sending me a new AC adapter which I hope will fix the problem  -- Just checked, and the fritzbox has a 5 year warranty which is nice.

I had this problem awhile ago (6+ months maybe), where the router would randomly restart. I didn't have a phone set up on it, so it didn't make any noise when it came back online. In the end, I just got a replacement router. Had that router for over a year on UFB before it started playing up. All I can say is "German engineering", the BMW breaks down every year too.

I was wondering about the odds of the AC adapter being at fault.

Will find out soon I guess.

OK, good news, the new ac adaptor has solved the fritzbox rebooting problem.

My fritz has been up and running for 7 days solid now.

AC adapters failing is a pretty common problem. I've started to see quite a few Cisco SPA power supplies that are around ~3 years old also starting to fail as well, they can't supply enough current when the phone rings so they keep rebooting.
